The above shot is from the movie. Using two reference points, the Cyclone and the fire alarm box, this scene was taken from the Bowery and west 12 street.
The photo on the left is what the present
day fire alarm box looks like. The box
from the movie has been replaced with the one in the photo, then taken out of
service totally.
This above photo was taken today. You still have the same view of the Cyclone, the fire alarm pull box (decommissioned) and in the background is a 3 smokestack chimney.
What has changed is the store fronts on the Bowery, the lampposts, and the store front on the original store front on the right hand side of the photos.
