Day 8

September 15, 2012

Not a good update.  Everyone’s worst nightmare is getting ill while on vacation.

The last couple of days, I have been chewing on Tums to settle my stomach.  To make myself feel ok.

This morning about 3:30 am, I sat on the bathroom floor, ready to throw up, which I did about 4 am.

Later today, I had Boma planned for breakfast, Yak N Yeti planned for lunch. I just canceled them online. L

I placed the do not disturb sign on the door, turned off my wrist alarm, and plan on laying in bed till dinner time. I have Le Cellier at 6 pm tonight. While the other places I don’t think I will get charged for it, I am sure I will be charged for canceling Le Cellier at this late date. You are supposed to give a day or two notice.  I hope I will feel better for Le Cellier. The only thing I haven’t done yet is Illuminations.  Kind of bummed if I will not be able to do that.

It’s now a little after 5 am. I am going back to sleep, or try too.

I will have a bunch of meal credits left, but what can you do? Not much.

I finally left my room after 2 pm.

I am no longer nauseous, but not hungry at all.    My niece is pregnant and I found this cute shirt at the studios for infants.  It has to do with Yoda being refused to a ride because he is too short.  It says… Judge  me by my size do you.  Or something like that. So I am heading to the studios, the traders store at the end of Star Tours to get it.  Maybe squeeze in Toy Story one last time this trip.

Leaving the traders, it is absolutely pouring. The store is doing a brisk business in selling rain ponchos.  They are also having problems getting people to not block the exit of the store. Remember the canopy I have on my scooter?  Well the water is pooling on top, and everytime I make a turn, the water pours down on my hands.  I head over to Toy Story, but the rough movement of the ride has me concerned, and decide to skip it.

I don’t think I am going to be able to eat dinner at Le Cellier, so I leave the studios and head to Epcot to see about canceling my dinner ADR there.  Maybe they wont charge me??

I make it to Epcot and it stopped raining. I head to Le Cellier about canceling my ADR.  Its lunch time, they don’t have the dinner ADR’s on the computer, so they look up and find my ADR on the computer print out.  I explain I am under the weather and won’t be able to eat dinner here.  I ask about will I still be charged or not for missing the ADR and not canceling in time.  Another worker overhears what I am asking and tells me and the check in person, they don’t charge for missed ADR’s.  Or so I hope.  Not really anything I can do, as I am starting to feel nauseas again.  Definitely not going to be eating dinner today.

Meanwhile my sneakers and socks are waterlogged.  This is from the water pouring off of the scooter’s canopy.  I have extra sneakers in my luggage, so I head back to the room to change.  I hope maybe to feel better to see Illuminations later today.

When I made it back to the room, I was soaked through and through. I raised the temperature of the room to maximum, and did a shower/bath combo. I sat and let the hot water rain down on me.

I laid down and went to sleep for a couple of hours. Forget illuminations, safari, or kali this trip.  Feeling pretty bummed.

When I woke up, I went to the food court where I got a fried chicken dinner with mash potatoes, took a bite or two of the potatoes, and couldn’t eat it. I have 5 meals left. I can get a couple of snacks for a meal credit, will do something like that in the am.

This trip ended badly, but otherwise was good. I just head back to the room.
