Day eight

My last day at the parks. Tonight I will be meeting Virginia and her family, which is a yearly tradition now, at Epcot. But right now I am heading to the studios. Here is my video of leaving my room and heading to the bus station and boarding the bus.

Here is my video of entering the park, and trying to find a hot breakfast meal inside the park. But I couldn’t.

The studios is very crowded is unually crowded as you can see in my video. Notice several wheel chair groups? They all have matching t-shirts on. I can see this could overwhelm the handicap access easy to some rides. But I will just deal with it. No big deal.

I wanted hot breakfast quick service meal before using my Toy Story fast pass plus, but except for pastries and coffee, I couldn’t find anything to eat. Oh well. I head off to use my FP+ for Toy Story.

After riding Toy Story. I went to Sunset Blvd to get a early lunch.  Chicken and ribs at Fairfax Faire. I parked my scooter as a table and went to get my food. It’s a early time for lunch so I just had one family in front of me ordering their food.

After lunch tried to meet up with Wendy from England.  We are communicating via Facebook. So far no luck

Then went on Muppets.  

Trying to use up my snack credits.   I had ice cream bar. Then nachos and cheese. Got one left.

I decide to leave the studios. As I am heading down the main street, Mickey Blvd. they are doing the Anna and Elsa thing. One of the things they make happen as part of the show is to make it snow. Here is a photo. Sadly, I never got to meet Wendy. Maybe another year.

I park hop to Animal Kingdom. I have dinner at Yak N Yeti, but will try to do some rides too, most likely Kali River Rapids a couple of times I hope. I am the only person at the bus stop. I don’t know if I just missed a bus, or no one wants to go to Animal Kingdom from the studios.

I made it to Animal Kingdom. My first job is to use up my last snack credit.  I want to get a PowerAde. On my search for a PowerAde, I get additional Fast Pass plus for Kali River Rapids.   I was told that a stand past Expedition Everest has PowerAdes in bottles. Other places sell it in cups only. But I wanted to maybe keep some for later, so a bottle was a must. I finally found it for sale used my last credit and drank it. Headed to ride Kali. I felt hot before, but getting wet from Kali I fell cooler.  Found another fp plus kiosk and got another fp plus for kali in 5 minutes.  Rode it again.

Now I am going to check in early at Yak n Yeti for early dinner. I start off with pot stickers (no photo) then for my entrée I get my usual Skirt steak with batter fried shrimp.

And of course for dessert, my favorite non chocolate dessert, cheese wontons on a skewer with ice cream.

After dinner. Heading to Epcot, third park of the day. But my last park??

The last couple of years I meet a friend I met online, Virginia in Orlando with her husband Alan and their grand daughter Ashlyn.  I usually meet her Friday nite after eating at 'Ohana.  This year, I didn’t remember, but made plans to meet her Saturday when I will be in Epcot.

While eating at Yak N Yeti, we started to text message each other.  They were already in Epcot and she also has their grandson Bryson too.

I leave Animal Kingdom and find a bus that goes to Epcot.  I am the only person waiting.  By the time the bus gets there, some others have showed up.

I enter Epcot and try and find a My Magic Plus to get a FP+ for Soarin.  At first I go into Innoventions.  They cant help me.  They can create a My Disney Experience account, but cant add a FP+ experience.  They tell me I need to use the kiosk which is right outside Mousegears.  The only problem
is 2 out of the three machines have broke, and the third one just stopped working also, that just leaves a handheld tablet with one person to handle the line.  I did wait about 5 minutes and scored a FP+ for Soarin in 20 minutes.

I text Virginia again asking where she is.  She goes 'At piggy'.  I send her back '???'  She responds Innoventions.  I enter one of the Innoventions buildings and I see a pig.... more like a Piggy Bank.  It’s a financial game thing by T Row Price or something like that.  There is a sitting area and I spot Virginia and Ashlyn, Alan too.  I am guessing the young kid with Alan is Bryson she mentioned.  I waited outside the play area and we say hi.

We head to Soarin, where they add her annual tickets to my Fast Pass + return time, which was now.  We rode it.  I had some quick service meals left over that I wouldn’t use so I offered to buy the kids some late night meals.

They wanted to ride Journey into Imagination with Figment, but that attraction seems to close early now.  It was about 8:30, so I said, I qualify for Handicap viewing area, so lets go watch Illuminations.  Now I did something that I am sure some people wont believe I did.  But I just sat
back and watched it.. no recording.. no Ustream, no electronics.  I am shocked too :)

After Illuminations was over, we didn’t leave right away as to let the crowds lessen.  I gave Ashlyn a Nathans Famous Hot Dog eating contest photo. They gave me a pin from Aulani.  I didn’t know Bryson would be there too.  I was looking to give away the Coney island Pennent I had on the back of my scooter all week, so I asked if Bryson wanted.  Ashlyn helped me remove it and I gave it to him.  They were recently at Disneyland resort.  She commented about the ferris wheel there and how the cars move inside the steel structure.  I pointed out the Wonder Wheel in the pennent and told them, that is where Disney got the idea to build Mickey's Fun wheel.. or whatever they call it.

While waiting near World Showcase Lagoon, I see fireworks going off.  At first I think its part of Fantasmic, but its much longer.   It is evidently the new Frozen Fireworks show.  We are watching it from the Future World end of World Showcase Lagoon and was enjoyable to watch.  Of course there must be a soundtrack that goes with it.  That we didn’t hear.

We stopped at Mousegears where they did some shopping. I really didn’t my last day at a theme park to end, but it does.

We made our way to the park exit, and we parted company.  By the time I made it to the Pop Century bus station, it was empty.  A bus pulled in that was idling in the parking lot, loaded me and maybe another 6 people.  We waited till about 10:30 and pulled out.  I made it back to my resort about 10:45.
Quickly changed into my bathing suit and went to the pool.

At 11 pm on the dot, the lifeguards blew their whistles and said the pool is now closed and everyone has to leave.  Went back to my room typed this email and going to bed. I will pack in the morning, which means, just place everything I can in my two pieces and hope it closes.
