Day Six

September 11, 2014

I lay in bed, just feeling lazy.  I finally got out of bed, and dressed.  I am going to have dinner at Le Cellier.  Some years ago the restaurant manager was intrigued by me wearing my Nathans Hot Dog eating t-shirt, she thought I was a contestant.  I told her I wasn’t, but felt better if I said I did.  So I am wearing that again today.

Interesting side note about this shirt.  I wore it last year to watch Illuminations in the handicap area.  While watching the show, I felt things dropping on me.  Later when I got back to my resort, I had scorch marks on the shirt from burning embers.

I am heading to the Magic Kingdom then park hop to Epcot after.  It is after 10:15 am and I am out the door.  My room number.

I may be funny this way, but this is one photo I don’t share till after I check out. :)

I try a new place for breakfast in the Magic Kingdom, for breakfast I head to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments and have a Root Beer Float and Funnel Cake.  I am bad :)

And here is my Scooter cam video of entering the Magic Kingdom and going to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.

I go get my DAS pass signed for Winnie The Pooh.  Then I went on It’s a Small World.  Here is my video of It’s a Small World, which I nicknamed Tiny Planet.

I had a bit of a wait as they were overwhelmed with scooters and wheel chairs.  First time ever I had that situation.  I then go on Winnie the Pooh.  Here is my Winnie the Pooh video.

I was thinking maybe going on Haunted Mansion, before lunch, but I head to Kona Café instead.

Once in the Polynesian, I head towards the bathrooms by ‘Ohana to plug in my scooter to charge.

The Polynesian is currently being remodeled.  While on the second floor, you could look over the middle down to the first floor.  Now it is boarded up for the construction.

I check in at Kona Café.  The place looks very empty, but there is still a bit of a weight.  I am told due to ongoing construction, they are only operating at 50% capacity.

For the appetizer I pay out of pocket for the pot stickers.

For the entrée…. Teriyaki Steak.

for dessert, I stay away from the Kona Kone, instead I get Warm Apple Tart.

After lunch, I decide to explore the Poly for Captain Cook’s.  For some reason I never went near this place.  I found it :)

I took the monorail back to Magic Kingdom. Before I entered the Magic Kingdom, I decided to go to Contemporary resort to do some shopping.  Here is my scooter cam video of this.

I bought some things and wanted to ship it back to my resort.  I was told they can only ship items to the other Monorail resorts only.  Oh well.

I went back and entered the
Magic Kingdom.  Here is my video going from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom Entrance area.

They were setting things up for the afternoon parade, by 3:30 or so, they canceled the parade because it was lightly raining and did a minute character parade in two vintage cars.   Here is that video of the rainout parade.

I stopped and looked around the Emporium.  I didnt find anything to buy. I did ask about my purchases from the Contemporary, if they can ship my merchandise back to the resort,  but they only ship merchandise that is purchased there.  Oh well.

I did Buzz Lightyear, and here is that video.

I then crossed the park to the new part of New Fantasyland via Main Street, lets pick up the action from Main Street.

I used my Fast Pass Plus for the new Little Mermaid Ride in New Fantasyland.  Here is that video.

At 5pm I left Magic Kingdom. I took the express monorail to ticket transportation center, then the Epcot monorail.  Here is my video of the Epcot monorail ride.

When I made it to Epcot, I went into guest services and added a 4th
Fast Pass plus, Soarin for 7:15 pm, which I didn’t use.

I then went over to World Showcase and checked in at Le Cellier.  I usually ask about walkups, when they say no, I tell them good, I have a ADR.  This year I don’t.  One thing about eating solo.  You cant help but overhear other peoples conversations.  Sometimes you want to jump in and correct what people think is true.  But I keep quiet.

Something new at Le Cellier.  The menus have lights in them to help read them in the darkness of the dining room.

I start off with Cheddar Cheese Soup with bacon and Moosehead Beer.

I get the rib eye for my entrée.

and for dessert…. Not a memorable one, I had to look it up to see what it was.

Looking at the menu’s online… this is what I am guessing I had…… Smoking Chocolate Mousse

Grand Marnier, Almond Crunch, Cinnamon Marshmallow, Dark Chocolate Bark.  Not something memorable.. is it.  I guess the chocolate Mousse fooled me.

Sorry about the dark photos, but Le Cellier is very dark.  Which is why they needed the lighted menu.  Something else about the menu.  Looking at the prices, I thought the steak was $17.  But while eating, I didn’t think that would be right.  So I looked at the menu on my smartphone and the steak was $49.  The $17 was the recommended wine that that goes with the rib eye steak.

After eating at Le Cellier, I take the path to the studios.

Once in the studios, I stop by guest services, I had the partially torn ticket from the Fantasmic Dinner Package from the rainout on the 7th.  I explain what happened and they issue me a new ticket for tonight's performance.  I was told the night it was canceled that I can see another show within 5 days since I paid extra for the package.  I don’t know if I could have just said I was there Sunday, produce my torn ticket with the date? or they expect everyone to get a new ticket at guest services.

At the entrance to the theater, I show them my new ticket, they send me up the way to the theater.  Once there, they escort me to where I can park my scooter, then escort me to the dining room reserved section.

Show was good, I did stream it live.  Here is my hi def video of the show.

Here is the video I broadcasted live, which included the preshow entertainment.

This time I really waited for the theater to empty before I attempted to move.   Still tough to do.  Wait at bus stops was terrible.  once I got on the bus, the bus driver asked if I mind sitting on the scooter for the ride back to Pop.  I knew it was a short ride, so I did it.

Once back at the resort, I change into my bathing suit and go for a late nite swim.  This is the first time with the new pool rules.  It is almost 10:30 by the time I make it to the pool.  Using my waterproof pouch with my smartphone I take a couple of photos.

When I entered the pool I noticed they had lots of lifeguards around the pool.  I am used to seeing none when the sun goes does.

Right on the dot, at 11 pm, they announce the pool is closed and everyone must leave.  So do I.  Head back to the room and go to sleep.
