Thursday, July 23rd, Disney day 5

Originally, the plans were to go to Epcot.  But since we missed Animal Kingdom on our first day, and rest of our family were at Animal Kingdom, I decided to forget Epcot and do Animal Kingdom instead.  I stop by my resorts concierge desk to make the Fast Pass changes.  Since my and my nieces My Disney Experiences are connected, the concierge can see their fast passes and try to match them.   They give us 3 generic fast passes for animal kingdom to use.

Since we will be getting to Animal Kingdom too late to do Safari with them, we do that first just my mother and I.

After doing Kilmanjaro Safari, we meet our family and a friend of my niece and her daughter by Mount Everest.  We then go on Kali River Rapids.  My nieces son is a bit nervous, but my sister in law (his grandmother) and my niece (his mother) keep him from being too nervous.  I am the only person to get wet… soaked really.

We then all gather to eat at Flame Tree BBQ.  I figure we will have a extra counter service meal, so I get a extra meal for my niece.

We go on Its tough to be a bug before heading back to the resort for a mid day break, and to change clothes.

after resting at resort i went back to epcot to eat at coral reef with rest of family.  They first gave us a table in the back, but my sister in law objected, so they moved us closer to the tanks to keep my great nephew entertained through dinner.

After dinner, we with to the
Living Seas with Nemo and Friends, the clam shell ride.  I rode it with my great nephew with me in the clam shell.  A first.

We went on Soarin after that.

We wanted to go on Journey into Imagination after, but it was after 8 pm and the attraction closed at 7.

We went on
Mexico boat ride twice in a row and then we left world showcase right before illuminations was due to start.

The plan is to head back to the resort, drop off the scooters and walk around Downtown Disney.

We get to Downtown Disney after we were delayed a bit getting there, some traffic issue had us standing still for a bit before entering DTD.

The first store I went through was the Art of Disney store.  I looked through the store, but didn’t find anything that spoke to me.

My mother found a pair of earing she liked and I bought it for her.  Unknown to me, Downtown Disney even closes at 11 in mid summer too.  Her purchase was the last purchase of the night.  I looked around the store, but couldn’t find anything to buy anyway.

We stopped by the Lego store which was closing, but my mother spoke to the woman at the door who allowed us a quick look inside.

After the Lego store, we walked back to the bus stop to get our bus for AoA, back to the resort.

Tomorrow.. last day.
